29th Nov 2011. PwC has announced today it will further expand its SAP consulting practice with the acquisition of Sydney-based Business Intelligence market leader, Avantis. Terms have not been disclosed.
iTnews reported PWC as saying “When it gets down to SAP, [PwC’s] current skill set is predominately around Business Warehouse with some Business Objects expertise. Avantis brings a significant uplift in our Business Objects implementation expertise.”
Established in 2001, and currently employing 22 people, Avantis is an established and reputable Business Intelligence & Analytics implementation consultancy, specialising predominantly in SAP’s Business Objects solution suite.
Avantis generates 80 per cent of its revenue from consulting and training services and has doubled its revenue in the past three years. Similarly, revenue of PwC’s consulting practice has also grown 32 per cent in the past 12 months.
“Avantis’ team will provide valuable expertise in assisting with Business Intelligence & Analytics helping to deliver on our promise to clients that PwC can support them from strategy through the execution, and making change stick,” said Mark Johnson, PwC CEO. Avantis’ David Cookney and David McAmis will continue with Avantis running the Sydney and Melbourne operations.
Business Intelligence and Analytics refers to skills, technologies, applications and practices to help a business better manage and predict performance, and make more insightful decisions based on current data.
The acquisition is planned to complete on 9 December this year or soon thereafter.
