1 May 2012 – Datatec Limited (JSE/AIM: DTC), the international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group, has announced that its UK-based subsidiary Logicalis has agreed to acquire Corpnet, a Brisbane-based provider of IT solutions including data centre, cloud and managed services solutions, to the Queensland, Australia mid-sized and enterprise markets. Corpnet is the primary business of NSX-listed (Australian National Stock Exchange) listed and Brisbane-based e-business systems limited.
The acquisition consideration comprises $2.7m on completion with an additional potential earn-out payment of $0.6m and is contingent upon approval by the seller’s shareholders.
Corpnet has annualised revenues of approximately A$20 million and has become one of the leading datacentre services and managed services providers in Queensland. Its service offerings, skill base and vendor accreditations will build upon Logicalis’ existing datacentre and managed services expertise in Australia.

This acquisition enables Logicalis to become a significant player in the Queensland market, primarily in the Finance, Mining and Construction and Travel sectors, and builds upon Logicalis’ existing data centre and managed services expertise. Corpnet has strong storage and virtualisation expertise and has built its cloud-based services to deliver Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), as well as Managed Backup and DR-as-a-Service offerings that complement Logicalis’ managed services portfolio.
Corpnet was founded in 2001 and later merged with e-Business Systems Ltd in 2008. Since its founding, the company has grown to achieve annualised revenues of approximately $20 million and become one of the leading datacentre services and managed services providers in Queensland. Corpnet holds the highest level of certification with EMC and is EMC’s largest storage reseller in Queensland. The company’s datacentre vendor accreditations also include Cisco, Hitachi, VMware and Commvault.
